In the beautiful Val d’Orcia, in the heart of Tuscany, a Autumn Landscape Workshop that will allow you to experience photography
among the most beautiful hills in the world at a time of year full of exciting atmospheres and colors.
The cost of the 3-day Photography Workshop is €250 per person.
Accommodation and meals are excluded from the price.
Places are limited to 8 to allow the Photo Tour to be held with the highest quality.
The Val d’Orcia World Heritage cultural site, UNESCO World Heritage, is located in the agricultural hinterland of Siena, in Central Italy, and includes the historic centers and much of the territory of the municipalities of San Quirico d’Orcia, Castiglione d’Orcia, Montalcino, Pienza, Radicofani.
The Val d’Orcia is an outstanding example of the redesign of the landscape in the Renaissance, illustrating the ideals of good governance in the 14th and 15th centuries of the Italian city-state and the aesthetic quest that guided its conception.
At first light sometimes fog caresses the hills and fills the valley, giving rise to a fairy-tale landscape.
At sunset the light creates wonderful contrasts among the rolling hills.
You will have the opportunity to get to know and experience the beautiful San Quirico d’Orcia, the Borgo that” has the special characteristic of being at the center of landscapes known everywhere.”

What you will get from this Workshop
In this Phototour I will cover topics to improve your technical skill in both image composition and natural light management through a training process ranging from using CPL, GND and ND filters in the shooting phase to post production of the Raw file.
The course has a duration of three days; we will meet early in the morning to take advantage of the first light of dawn and conclude in the evening with sunset.
The workshop is structured to give space for anyone, beginners and more experienced amateurs, to be able to improve their photographic level regardless of starting knowledge with multiple shooting sessions per day.
Topics covered will be:choosing the Location with inspection the day before, composition with the use of the rule of thirds, exposure, hyperfocal, Focus Stacking, light management also with the use of plate filters, Raw file management and post production tips aimed at Fine Art printing.
What we will do and the program
All locations chosen for the photo shoot can be reached by car and short walking distances.
Participation in the workshop is the direct responsibility of the participants, and those interested will be able to take out accident insurance on their own.
Day 1 (September 27, 2024)

16,00 Hills of San Quirico: field lesson to prepare compositions, site survey.
16.30 Photo shooting sessions in the hills of San Quirico to take advantage of the most beautiful light until sunset.

Day 2 (September 28, 2024)
6.00 Departure to location for sunrise photo shoot.
8.00 Breakfast at the Officina del Gusto in San Quirico.
8.30 Review of shots taken
10.00 Photo shooting
12.30 Lunch free or all in groups
16,30 Departure to the locations I selected for the photo shoot, the survey.
17,00 Shooting in the hills of San Quirico to take advantage of the most beautiful light until sunset
20.00 Dinner
Day 3 (September 29, 2024)
6.00 Departure to location for sunrise photo shoot.
8.30 Breakfast
9.00 Review of the shots of the photo shoots taken
10.00 End of work and final greetings
Recommended photographic equipment and clothing
DSRL or Mirrorless camera, lenses 24 to 200 mm at least, CPL circular polarizing filter CPL, GND filters (if you have them), solid tripod, remote shutter release and notebook (if possible).
Photo sessions will take place at dawn, early afternoon and dusk, so fairly varied clothing is recommended, warm against cool wind, rainproof, lighter for the afternoon and boots.
